AN Indian woman cut off her brother-in-law’s penis while he was attempting to rape her and took it to a police station as evidence.
Vimlesh Koul, 30, said she was forced to take dramatic action when Sanju Koul attacked her while her husband was at work.
She used a sickle to cut off Koul’s penis and then rushed to a nearby police station still holding it — telling officers the severed genitalia was evidence of the attempted rape.
When police when back to the property to question Koul — they found him hanging byhis neck from a tree.
“He allegedly committed suicide because of humiliation,” town inspector Churhat ArtiChourate told the Hindustan Times.
The police have now charged Mrs Koul withattempted murder — although they admitted they whole case needed to be investigated properly.
Violence against women is common in India, where one rape is reported every 20 minutes.
