Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has vowed that his players “will never give up” after dropping vital points in the Premier League title race in a 2-2 draw against West Brom. The Baggies took the lead in the first half through striker Salomon Rondon, but the Foxesfought back in typical fashion when a Danny Drinkwater strike and a wonderful curling effort from Andy King put them in thelead.
Craig Gardner then scored a inch-perfect free-kick in the second half to secure a point for Tony Pulis’ side, meaning Premier Leagueleaders Leicester dropped two vital points in their title fight.
But manager Ranieri claims he is “very pleased” with his teams performance, and has vowed that his players will “never give up” in their bid to become Premier League champions.
Speaking after the game, the Italian said: “I am very pleased with our performance. They played so well, there was no panic after the first goal.
“We played much better than against Norwich. I am satisfied with the performance. Just sometimes you can do everything but the ball doesn’t want to go in.
“I want to create a lot of chances and sooneror later we score. Tonight wasn’t the right moment but we are alive and we fight to the end. Everybody is ready to fight, to play well, to create chances. Only the victory was missing.”
Asked whether he was disappointed with theresult, Ranieri remained positive with his team’s performance.
“Nothing negative,” said Ranieri. “We tried to do everything and well done to my players. I love this, we never never give up.
“We always try the best in every situation. Every team plays football and we have to find the solution and try to win. It is important not to lose the match too as they could have counter attacked.
“We believe in ourselves. It is the same, I don’t see the title. I just watch my team. We must believe until the end, every match is important for us to understand what we can do in our life.”
